Meet Our Staff
Chris Nolan, Director for The Haven, brings many years of varied experience to the position. His background includes providing direct services to clients, non-profit management and ventures in private industry. He holds a BS in Educational Psychology and Counseling, an MS in Rehabilitation Counseling and is a nationally Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC). He has also experienced homelessness.
Chris has long believed in helping others to acquire the skills necessary to be successful in their pursuits. These skills may include a wide variety of job, educational and life skills that an individual needs to be successful in our society. These skills also include finding peace with one’s self and those around him or her. His background of working with families recovering from various addictions, high risk youth, adult education and research with rural populations will help with his work at The Haven.
Jennifer Kerr, Assistant Director, has an Associate’s Degree in Human Services Technology and is continuing her education in Social Work. She is a member of the National Association of Social Workers. Her work with the homeless population in Asheville has given her the ability to assist the people she works with in becoming self-supporting and independent.
Jennifer believes that when people are given unconditional positive regard all things are possible, and that with staff and community support the residents of the Haven will be prepared to meet their goals and enjoy a much improved quality of life.
