Nationally and locally, homelessness is on the rise, and the face of homelessness is changing to include more families and more people who live in suburbs and rural communities. In our own community of Transylvania County, there has been a steady increase in homelessness, especially among women and children.

That is the question asked by the Urban Ministries of Durham, a faith-based organization that provides food, shelter, and clothing to those in need in Durham, North Carolina. In collaboration with the interactive agency McKinney, Urban Ministries came up with this thought-provoking online game: SPENT
